Can the truth be disruptive to employment

In today's corporate landscape, the value of senior professionals with extensive experience is often overlooked, leaving many questioning whether honesty about their years of expertise might hinder their prospects. It's not uncommon for companies to ignore the wealth of knowledge and skill that comes with decades of experience. I've even been asked whether it would be better to downplay 20 years of development experience instead of three years to appear more believable. This trend has led to a disorganized and perplexing hiring process, leaving many seasoned professionals feeling undervalued and misunderstood. This raises the vital question: can the unvarnished truth about one's experience become a barrier in today's employment landscape?
